Thanksgiving in Maternelle

In maternelle we explored the cultural event of Thanksgiving in parallel to our ongoing discovery of weather, seasons and nature. The children did a craft project to make a turkey from leaves. The first part of this was to get outside and have lots of fun playing in the fallen autumnal leaves. Children practiced lots of language related to colours (red, orange, yellow, brown etc), counting and size. After organising and sticking their leaves to represent the turkey’s plumage, the children learned language related to the turkey (feather, beak, etc) and finished their craft with colours and stickers of their choice.
